Fundación MINEROS was created in 2010 to comprehensively support the communities located in its areas of operation, investing in protection and recovery of the environment, good local governance and social and economic development. This way, Grupo MINEROS S.A. consolidates its commitment to the Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy.
To achieve our mission, we formed interinstitutional partnerships that contribute resources to projects which help to improve the quality of life of the populations in our areas of influence, as well as contributing up to 50% of the total value of the implemented projects.
SOCIAL MANAGEMENT IN FIGURES
“AURORA” BEEKEEPING PROJECT
This project has been implemented for five years. For its timely development, Fundación MINEROS contributes human resources to generate the training component on enterprise and business strengthening of the Beekeeper Association of Lower Cauca region and South Bolívar, logistical support and a technical coordinator to improve the revenue of the farming families in the areas of influence of the Company’s mining operations. By 2015, 97 families had joined the project, which reflects its popularity in the subregion.

“AVANZA” PROGRAM FOR BUSINESS STRENGTHENING
Thanks to the contributions to the “Avanza” program by Fundación MINEROS in partnership with Corporación Interactuar since 2011, new business units have received basic business advice and technical assistance, pioneering companies have received consultancy, and business skills workshops have been held in the municipalities of El Bagre and Zaragoza.
This is to encourage and strengthen different business alternatives in both municipalities. With the project, we have been able to attend to 21 new business units to date and we keep providing support to four pioneering business units that we have been working with for years.

SUPPORT FOR LEGALIZATION OF MINING BY EMIJOM S.A.S.
The economic resources allocated to the legalization project of the EMIJOM S.A.S. group were possible thanks to the agreement between Fundación Mineros and the BIOREDD program. The resources were used to prepare the Work and Construction program, the Environmental Management Plan and provide specialized technical assistance.
Fundación MINEROS worked to adequately manage the resources and ensure fulfillment of the commitments made. The professionals of the technical, social, legal and environmental areas provided support for the quality of the studies and advice on the procedures required.
Our partners: BIOREDD program and the Antioquia Secretary of Mines.
COMPREHENSIVE FAMILY CARE PROGRAM
Currently, we are carrying out the Comprehensive Family Care Program for employees of Operadora Minera, continuing a similar initiative implemented years ago with MINEROS S.A. employees.
In 2015, 50 employees and their families joined the program as part of the partnership between Fundación MINEROS and the Comfenalco Family Compensation Fund. This permitted the continuation of the program this year, offering advice to families on topics including: healthy living habits and participation in health promotion and prevention programs, anthropometric assessment, psychoeducational workshops on guidelines and limits for a positive upbringing, healthy diet, raising awareness on the importance of spending free time with the family, psychological counseling, advice on obtaining housing, citizen coexistence, psychological counseling for adolescents with difficulties at school, couple therapy and comprehensive support for children.

We held a chess festival for young people from schools in the urban and rural areas of the municipalities of El Bagre, Zaragoza and Nechí last year as part of the “Chess as an Educational Tool” program, which facilitates the development of skills and attitudes. Additionally, we brought temporary and definitive medical family planning services to young and adult women of the El Bagre Municipality through the Mobile Health Brigade.
